Saturday 6th May watch the coronation on television with friends and family.
Ardleigh 's Big Coronation Picnic on Sunday 7th May 2023 takes place on the Millennium Green from 12 noon till 4pm.
Plans are in place to celebrate the King's Coronation in Ardleigh. On Sunday 7 May we will be on the Millennium Green with a Skylark barbeque and JackRabbit bar and lots of activities for all the family. Bobby George will be giving autographs and there will be coronation mementoes for the first 150 attendees.
Don't worry if the weather isn't great- we have back-up plans to use the Village Hall.
All welcome. See you there!
Remember what a great time we all had last June, celebrating the Queen’s
Jubilee? Now it’s time to celebrate her successor in the same way. Bring your
own picnic to the Millennium Green at noon, sit on the straw bales and enjoy
yourselves! The event will be opened by Ardleigh's own King of Bling Bobby George. You’ll be able to buy drinks and food if you wish, there’ll be ice
cream too, and plenty for both children and adults to do: creating crowns and
banners, painting pictures of the royal family, face painting, mini bowls as well
as many, many races (how we loved them last June) and tugs of war. Debbie’s dancers will help get us in the mood too. Come and be part of the fun!
Monday 8th May: The Big Litter Pick and Walk will take place on this Bank Holiday, plus a guided walk. Meet at 9.15 at the Millennium Green to clear up from the event the day before. Bring gloves and litter picking kits if you have them (we can provide kits if not). Walk starts at 10.30am followed by tea and cakes in the Church.
In summer 2020 the Parish Council agreed to use grant funds received from Tesco to provide individual litter picking kits to residents to use (at their own risk) to allow them to keep Ardleigh litter free for the benefit of our community. For more information please email ardleighnp@gmail.com
This initiative is being co-ordinated by Councillor Carolyn Mason (pictured)
We will keep a tally of litter picks completed and update via our Facebook page and website.
